A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between BKMC/GKMC-MTI and Two Nursing Colleges of Swabi.
The agreement ceremony was held at the Auditorium Hall of GKMC/BKMC-MTI under which fifty students of each nursing college will be trained in the hospital. The event was attended by Principals and students of Quaid-e-Azam Institute of Nursing and Health Science and Swabi College of Nursing and Health Science.
Addressing at the occasion nursing director Mehran Khan said that there is an acute shortage of nurses not only in Pakistan but all over the world, at present.
there is only one nurse for 30 to 35 Patients in Pakistan which is contrary to the policy of WHO.
The hospital Director highlighted the importance of the nursing field and said that the best health care is not possible without trained nursing and other supporting staff. Dr. Mehboob Clarified that change in the health system comes from the change in the health delivery system, unless the supporting staff is talented health care cannot change, HD encourages youth to join the nursing field and prove their talent.
Dean, CEO GKMC/BKMC-MTI Professor Dr. Shams-Ur-Rehman, Medical Director Dr. Shahid Nisar also highlighted the importance of nurses and assured full cooperation with both colleges.
