Senate shows solidarity with Kashmiris, condemns Indian brutalities

ISLAMABAD
Senate on Friday passed a resolution to condemn Indian brutalities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and to show solidarity with the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The Senate passed this resolution in line with February 5, the national ‘Solidarity day’ with people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Opposition leader at Senate Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani said that political leadership of country had no differences among them when it comes to express solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “We demand global community to fulfill its promises made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir” Yusuf Raza Gillani said, adding that basic human rights were being violated by Indian authorities in IIOJK.
Gillani said that India was converting Muslim majority of population into a minority, and was committing Kashmiris’ genocide. “We want to tell Kashmiris that we would stand by their side until and unless they get their right of self determination” Gillani told Senate.
He said that his party came into being in the name of Kashmir cause. “Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto did not believe in the Line of Control (LoC). Benazir Bhutto named February 5 as Kashmir solidarity day” he added.
Leader of the house Dr. Shehzad Wasim said that Friday’s senate meeting would send a message to whole world that Pakistan stands with Kashmiris.
He said that Kashmir dispute is an international dispute and it can never be sorted out without giving right of self determination to people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Today, almost a million of Indian soldiers are illegally present in Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmir has become the largest jail in world. People of Kashmir have made countless sacrifices for their freedom and it is a long story of oppression and injustice” he maintained at Friday’s senate meeting.
JUI-F senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri said that current government had ‘sold Kashmir out’. “You have bargained [with India] at the price of blood of Kashmiri people” he said, while calling out at government.
Haidri said that former Pakistani governments have been working to protect Kashmiris while the incumbent PTI-led government on the contrary was harming Kashmiris’ interests.
MQM’s Senator Faisal Sabzwari said that peaceful resolution of Kashmir conflict was imperative for global peace. Kashmiris must be awarded with their sole right of self determination. “We must renew our determination to stand by Kashmiris’ side” Sabzwari said, adding that a split in Pakistan on Kashmir cause provided assistance to India.
He said that meaningful and objective negotiations with India were the only solution of Kashmir issue. “If the Kashmir issue remains unsettled, both India and Pakistan would remain subordinates to world powers for ages” he maintained.
On this occasion, as presiding the senate meeting, Senator KeshooBai said that i want to send a message to the Prime Minister of India that a Hindu member is presiding a meeting against the cruel act of India. She added that it is a slap on the mouth of Indian Prime Minister and we will not bear more brutalities of Modi.
Senator HiadayatUllah said, that wars were fought between India and Pakistan on the dispute of Kashmir but it could not be resolved.
He added that we condemn the brutal acts occurred in Kashmir. United Nation’s silence over the atrocities of India in Kashmir is shocking. Moreover he said that, Kashmiris are the real party to Kashmir’ conflict.
Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan mentioned that a particular ambassador to be appointed for the freedom of Kashmir. He demanded that Amendments should be made in the constitution of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to extend its jurisprudence to IIOJK. Likewise , a resolution should be worked out to be presented in the United Nation’s meeting in Geneva. In this regard we should visit all the world countries to seek their support.
He asked to raise Plethora of voices for the release of arrested members in IIOJK. He demanded that Kashmir Committee must be reactivated. He mentioned that Jihad spirit be kept alive. Protection be provided to Kashmiri leaders.
