Capital City Police in their crackdowns against illegal weapons, drugs and liquor rounded up 638 persons including 157 dangerous criminals from different areas and recovered 51 Kalashnikovs 715 pistols, 37 shotguns, and eight Kalakos.
Police in crackdowns also seized 548kg hashish, 229 bottles of liquor and more than 111kg of Opium from their possession. Police also claimed to have recovered 22 motorcycles and eight vehicles snatched from the people in different areas were recovered.
A police handout informed that police in Peshawar have carried out 253 information based search and strike operation in district Peshawar and held more than one thousand involved different criminals activities.
It said that police recovered 36 smart phones from street criminals and recovered Rs2.5 millions from the robber’s gangs in Peshawar.
SSP Operation Peshawar, Haroon Rashid, in a statement has said that operations against the criminals in the provincial capital would be continued.
He said that under the new strategy crackdowns have been extended and campaign is being launched against the display of arms.
