KARACHI: A security guard was shot dead when he tried to put up resistance to dacoits who were looting the bakery shop he was guarding in Karachi. The dacoits took away the firearm of the slain security guard with him after committing the dacoity in Block 16 of Gulshan Iqbal. Meanwhile, a wanted drug trafficker was killed in an alleged encounter with police in Sukhan Rehri Goth area of the megacity. The accused, Abdur Rasheed alias Radh Luth, was wanted in seven different cases including that of terrorism. Police also recovered weapons from the scene. Meanwhile, In another strange shop robbery incident, armed dacoits first threw chili powder into the eyes of a shopkeeper and then made off with huge cash and cell phones in Sadiqabad. The CCTV footage showed that the dacoits came to a mobile phone shop where they threw chili powder into the eyes of the owner. They then searched the shop and made off with Rs200,000 cash and cell phones. Police were investigating the incident. DNA
