Minister for planning Asad Umar has said population census has nothing to do with National Identity Card (NIC) and it will not be conducted on the NIC basis.
Army duty during the population census will be security duty . Hard and soft ware valuing Rs 10 billion is being obtained. Assembly and parliament will have to be taken into confidence; he said this while addressing a ceremony here Tuesday.
He stated there is no intention to slap curfew in connection with population census. Curfew is imposed only when population census is conducted in one day
He pointed out National Coordinator Centre will stand linked to provinces. We are trying that statistical department shares all information with media.
This is basic pillar on which future depends, he held. The experts on statistics were sought from all the provinces.
He remarked assembly and parliament will have to be taken into confidence. Any one who utilizes resources while staying in Pakistan will be counted. Whosoever is living any where in connection with employment will be counted .
Population census takes place some time after 10 years and some time after 15 years, he indicated. Later allegations are leveled. Population census is imperative for future planning of the country. Therefore it is must that technology should be used for such important job.
He underscored that opposition has given so much dates that even civil court does not give so much dates. Thing started from Zardari and Nawaz Sharif and reached Maryam and Bilawal. Now third generation has grown up.
