PESHAWAR: University of Peshawar has signed MoU with City Police to provide opportunities to its students to get practical experience in resolving social issues confronting to a common man. In this connection a formal ceremony was held here Tuesday wherein Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Abbas Ahsan and Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Dr Mohammad Idrees signed the document on behalf of their respective organizations in the varsity’s premises. According to MoU, the students of UoP would get internships in the police stations to acquaintance with the policing system and initially 30 students of Social Work Department have been selected for the said internship. Under the MoU, the police force would utilize energies of students to improve soft image of police among the general public and it would help restore confidence of people on policing system. Speaking at the event, CCPO said that during the internship students can conduct their researches through a special program that would soon be launched.
