Auqaf, Hajj, Religious & Minority Affairs Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) stopped monthly honorarium to mosque imams and religious leaders of minorities across the province.
The decision was taken to conduct second local body elections in the province in a transparent manner.
According to a notification issued by the department concerned, distribution of financial assistance to ‘Aaima Jamia Masjids and Minority religious leas were stopped.
“I am further directed to convey that cheque distribution may be resumed immediately by inviting local MNA/MPA and notables (s) in the inaugural ceremony and send report/pictures etc. to this department for information and record,” said the notification.
