CTD sources said suicide bomber trained in Afghanistan, previously involved in target killings

In a rare development, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Peshawar has revealed that they had identified the suicide bomber of the blast on Shiite Mosque at Kocha-e-Risaldar.
Sources from CTD have also confirmed that those who planned the attack on the Mosque have also been identified.
It said that the suicide bomber was trained in Afghanistan and came to Peshawar ten years ago.
However, sources in the CTD claimed that the facilitators of the suicide bomber were from Jamrud area of the tribal district Khyber.
Information further revealed that Abdul Wajid alias Ghazi Usman, who was involved in the suicide at Peshawar Mosque, had also been part of a international terrorist organization.
Ghazi Usman also made a vain attempt to obtain a Form-B from a local NADRA office some years ago, CTD investigation added.
He was living in the outskirts of the provincial capital and had been missing from his home since 2020.
It is pertinent to mention here that so far police have also arrested 22 facilitators of the attack of which six key and most wanted terrorists also included, sources said.
Terrorist Abdul Wajid alias Ghazi Usman was also involved in attacks on Dr Satnam Singh, peace committee members, and ASI Amitaz Alam, sources said.
CTD investigation pertaining to Peshawar mosque blast claimed that the mastermind, Muzaffar Shah alias Khalid, was involved in different target killings.
It said that the third terrorist who also involved and part of the facilitators gang has been shot dead by police a few days ago in an operation in the provincial capital.
It is pertinent to mention here that Peshawar Mosque bomb blast was a suicide attack which had left 65 worshippers dead and more than 192 injured. The incident took place in the Kocha-e-Risaldar area of the city on Friday last week.
The responsibility of the attack has been claimed by the militant Islamic State group.
Soon after the incident took place law enforcement agencies including police and CTD launched a comprehensive investigation and so revealed that they had not only identified the whole network behind the attack but also identified the suicide bomber.
