ECP issues notice to PTI MPA over code violation

PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday issued notices to Chairman District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) and Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Shah Faisal for violation of code of conduct during the ongoing campaign for By-Elections in NA-33 Hangu.

The District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Hangu Syed Zahoor Shah has issued a notices.
According to a notice issued by DMO Hangu, MPA Shah Faisal had participated in public meetings in the area and announced various developmental schemes which was against the code of conduct.
District Monitoring Officer Hangu summoned the MPA concerned to appear before the election commission and explain his position on March 16,2022 at 2.00 pm positively.
It is worth mentioning here that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued schedule for conducting bye elections in the constituency NA-33 Hangu where polling will be held on April 10, 2022.
Furthermore, DMO has already taken notice of violation of code of conduct few days ago by noticing that some members of locals councils/party workers of political parties reportedly involved in distributing cheques/cash money under “Ihsas Kafalat Scheme/Zakat Scheme and financial assistance to Aima Keram of Jama-e-Masjid and minority/religious leaders” in different area of the district Hangu.
Consequently, DMO has written a letter to Deputy Commissioner Hangu in this regard, requesting therein to direct all the concerned authorities in the district to ensure that no political office bearer is involved in distribution of cheques /cash money under the above mentioned program.
