Govt brings betterment in economy through effective steps: Tareen

Finance Minister (FM) Shaukat Tareen has said government has brought betterment in the economy through effective strategy.
“No work was done to solidify national economy from 2008 to 2018. Afghan war cussed harm to national economy. IMF has been informed about the steps taken for improvement in the economy, he said this while addressing Pakistan Petrochemical symposium here Thursday.
No clear policy road map is there for investment in any sector, he held adding Petrochemical symposium will determine road map for improvement in the eonomy.
Our economy is moving forward by facing multiple challenges, he underlined. Our economy was the 4th largest economy of Asia in 1960 decades. The massive nationalization gave rise to multiple problems. Pakistan needs long term investment and stable economic development, he added.
Afghan war caused harm to our economy, he stated. No work was done for strengthening the economy from 2008 to 2018 and the taxes share could not increase in the economy.
Corona policy pursued by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan was lauded by the world, he remarked. We are providing funds directly to poor segments of society, he added.
Government had to go to IMF under compulsion, he said adding rumors are spread by sitting in drawing rooms.
