PESHAWAR
The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has approved 25 uplift schemes, worth Rs112.104 billion.
The 17th PDWP meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shahab Ali Shah, additional chief secretary of P&D department, on Friday. The meeting was attended by senior officers of the concerned departments and members of PDWP.
The approved 25 project schemes pertain to rural development, C&W, sport & tourism, elementary and secondary education and public health engineering sectors for the uplift of the province.
Some of the approved projects included: purchase of sanitation vehicles and sewer suction machinery for opening drains and sewerage lines in divisional headquarters and TMAs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; establishment of Imran Khan Mohmand Shaheed Girls Degree College At Sher Garh, district Mardan; instructional and physical training programme in newly merged districts; solarization of schools in merged areas under AIP; establishment of Information Complex, feasibility study for design & construction of Badalai Bridge at Madyan, district Swat; and construction of different roads in Dir Upper.
Other approved uplift schemes included: improvement/widening/ rehabilitation from main Sarozai-Hangu road, district Hangu; feasibility studies for design & construction of road from Patrak to Thal Kumrat, district Dir Upper; 4RCC bridges and grade separated intersection at Shaheed Chowk Timergara in Dir Lower; purchase of land and construction for Janazgah/ graveyard in different UCs of Mardan district; strengthening of TMAs of tourist areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Safe City Project Swat; design & construction of sewerage treatment plant at Yaseen Abad, Peshawar; and construction/rehabilitation of water supply & sanitation schemes in district Bannu.
