Sindh High Court (SHC) while giving last chance to FIA in money laundering case against the senior journalist and analyst Mohsin Jamil Baig has adjourned the hearing of the case till April 22.

The case came up for hearing before a two members bench of SHC presided over by Justice Iqbal Kalhoro Friday.

Latif Khosa counsel for Mohsin Jamil Baig argued FIA case is based on malafide intent. It can be seen from this thing that cases were registered against his client on the same day in Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi.
Counsel for FIA took the plea “we had issued notice to Mohsin Baig in December 2021 and this case has nothing to do with the action taken against him due to remarks given by him in TV program.

Justice Iqbal Kalhoro inquired from the counsel of FIA what action was taken against Mohsin Jamil Baig after notice was issued . Was he arrested.

Justice Iqbal Kalhoro while addressing the counsel for FIA remarked “ don’t give wrong statement. Mohsin Jamil Baig was arrested in connection with the second FIR registered against him and not in the case registered against him in December 2021.

FIA personnel tried to speak on this occasion.

Justice Iqbal Kalhoro while reprimanding them remarked don’t try to be more smart. Ill intent of you people can be seen clearly. Therefore, we granted immediate bail to the accused .

Addressing FIA personnel he remarked “you people are employees of state. Apply your mind. What is this. A man sitting on higher position asks you and you register FIR against any one and arrest him. I am warning you if evidences are not presented in this case on next hearing then stern action will be taken against you. We have made this thing clear already.

Giving last chance to counsel for FIA, he remarked if no credible arguments or evidence were presented in next hearing then we will decide this case.

Latif Khosa counsel for Mohsin Jamil Baig told the court FIA has got bank accounts of his client freezed which have no relevance with this case. Due to freezing of bank accounts the salaries of 1800 employee stand withheld.

The court remarked give a separate application on this count. We will see this matter too.

Latif Khosa requested the court FIA personnel should not be let go unpunished otherwise they will continue process of blackmailing.

The court remarked this thing is in its view and it will see it.
