FBR chairman trying to block the wheel of industry: Adnan

Industrialists on Friday strongly criticized the chairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for his alleged cruel measures and rejected the 13th April deadline given by the FBR, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adnan Ali, Industrialists Coordinator Shakeelzada, Former President Swat Chamber Yousuf Ali Khan, Haji Ahmad Khan, in a joint statement said that 14th notices were issued by the FBR during February 2021 to February 2022 are the tactic to close the industry.
They demanded the immediate cancellation of the 14th notifications issued (which were issued between February 2021 and February 2022) and also demanded to maintain the exemption given to Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Pakistan’s Provincially Administered Tribal Areas (PATA) in the Finance Bill 2019.
They added that before issuing the notifications former FATA and PATA chambers to be taken into confidence.
They also demanded avoid to reduce the import of industrialist on the basis of Capacity Determination Survey and due to customs and sales tax exemption till June 2023, if any manufacturer is getting imported goods cheaply in the open market and buying more than his needs and if he is doing it and if he was banned it will be great cruelty to ban it.
They added that due to the distance from the dry port the transportation charges on the import are increased in PATA and FATA industrial zones as compared to other areas.
They added that it will be difficult to compete with the surrounding areas. They added that the former FATA and PATA were exempted from all taxes till 2023 by the Prime Minister and the Cabinet but despite this, the FBR chairman is trying to block the wheel of industry in the area by harming the industrialists instead of giving them relief.
They added that the FBR chairman is allegedly creating problems and difficulties in the area due to his wrong measures, people are facing difficulties and low inflation.
