Hamza Shahbaz resorts to LHC against non administering of oath by governor Punjab to him

Newly elected Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Hamza Shehbaz Sharif has resorted to Lahore High Court (LHC) against non administering oath of his office to him by governor Punjab.

Punjab government and governor Punjab Umar Sarfraz Cheema have been made respondents.

He has taken plea in the petition governor administers oath to elected CM after getting information under rule 21 of rules of procedure. Violation of constitutional convention is tantamount to violation constitution.

The petition said governor Punjab is old office bearer and worker of PTI. Governor Punjab wants to create constitutional crisis. He is indulging in deviating from the constitutional orders and making mockery of spirit of the parliament. The people of the province have been drifted more into economic and political crisis by creating crisis.

The newly elected CM took the plea that governor office is symbol of unity and federation. Its basic objective is safeguarding the constitution and heading provincial executive.

The petition further said that Hamza Shahbaz was elected as CM in Punjab Assembly session.
The petitioner is left with no other option except approaching this learned court because governor is not administering oath to the elected CM. This act is defiance of law and constitution.

The petitioner requested the court to issue order to governor Punjab to administer oath to newly elected CM Punjab.
