Minister for promoting IT industry in KP

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Science and Information Technology Atif Friday Khan said that the provincial government was taking practical steps to promote the IT industry, which would provide employment opportunities to the youth as well as increase IT exports in the province.
He expressed these views while addressing a function on the occasion of signing of agreement between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board and KPMG for preparation of feasibility report for setting up of Special Technology Zones in Peshawar and Mardan.
The function was attended by Secretary Matiullah Khan and other concerned officials. Atif Khan said that the provincial government would soon start providing IT short courses to engage 100,000 youth under a scheme costing Rs. 8 billion.
In addition, One Window Citizen Facilitation Center will be launched soon to provide 19 basic facilities of five departments at the divisional level on a trial basis in the province, which will relieve the citizens from the hassle of various departments and ensure transparency. The agreement between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board and KPMG was also formally signed in the presence of the provincial minister.
