KOHAT: At least four persons including two women of a family have lost their lives on Saturday in two separate incidents of firing in Kohat while two persons including father and his son were injured. According to initial information received from police and other sources, a bloody clash took place between two brothers Mastan Gul and Amin Raza on the construction of a sewage drain in Landi Kachai, a remote area within the limits of Usterzai police station on Saturday morning. As a result, three members of a family were killed including two women while Mastan Gul and his son Muhammad Asfan of opponent side were injured. “Both the affected parties were reportedly brothers whose opened fire on each other over a minor dispute of construction of sewage drain”, police explained the reason behind the triple murder case, adding that a case has been registered and investigation has started. Police further said that some persons involved in the firing have been taken into custody. Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen shot dead a man in the Mirzai area of Kohat city and the accused fled from the scene. The deceased has been identified as Asif Ali Shah, ex union council nazim and private job holder/worker in Kohat Courts and a resident of Fateh Khan Banda area of Lachi Tehsil. “The murder of Asif Ali Shah may have been linked with an old enmity”, police supposed, saying that the police however, registered a case and started investigation.
