PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has approved Honorarium worth millions of rupees to its employees on special occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr at a fixed rate of Rs.50000 each. “Hon’able Chief Election Commissioner has been pleased to approve Honorarium to BPS-1 to BPS-17 employees of Election Commission of Pakistan on Special occasion of Eid-ul Fitr at a fixed rate of Rs.50000 each”, says an official letter addressed to all Provincial Election Commissioners of Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Baluchistan at Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta respectively. Although the exact number of its employees of BPS-1-17 could not immediately find out but its strength may in hundreds as ECP has its many offices at provincial, regional and district level where hundreds of employees do perform their duties. So the it may be assumed that millions of rupees would be rewarded to the employees in shape of Honorarium. The concerned have directed that they should immediately calculate the amount on the fixed rate per person and send the details of all the employees to the Budget Branch ECP. DLP Report
