Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash on Friday directed all the deputy commissioners in the province to ensure foolproof security arrangements on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.
Inspector General Police Moazzam Jah Ansari, relevant administrative secretaries attended the meeting while divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and regional police officers participated through video link.
Chief Secretary directed relevant authorities to make best security arrangements for Eid congregational prayers, extend facilitation to tourists at tourist spots and make sure availability of fuel at filling stations during the religious festival.
Dr. Shahzad Khan Bangash further directed them to prevent aerial firing and one-wheeling on Chand Raat. In addition, he also instructed action against transporters who overcharge and fleece passengers traveling to their native areas for Eid.
For provision of safe and hygienic food items to public, Chief Secretary said halal food authority should keep a close watch on the quality of food items and sweets at the bakeries.
The meeting also issued instructions to concerned authorities to take steps to control load shedding on Eid-ul-Fitr.
