Local Govt Minister orders plan for recycling waste in cities

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Local Government, Elections and Rural Development Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur has directed the quarters concerned to prepare a comprehensive master plan for recycling millions of tons of waste being generated by the major cities of the province.
Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur appreciated the services rendered by the employees of the municipality across the province.
He expressed these views during a meeting with the secretary of Local Government, Elections and Rural Development at his office here on Tuesday.
The provincial minister paid tributes to the municipal employees across the province for ensuring proper arrangements for health and hygiene and drinking during Eid-ul-Fitr.
On this occasion, Faisal Amin Gandapure directed the officials concerned to devise a comprehensive master plan for recycling millions of tons of garbage, especially from cities, on a scientific basis.
He said that since he has taken charge of his post, KP local bodies department has breathed new life into it.
The local body staff in the entire province, including the merged districts has started rendering services more diligently, he added.
The Local Government Minister said that those who performed their duties with utmost honesty would be appreciated.
“We will not hesitate to reprimand the officials who have committed negligence and theft in the public service,” he added.
