PESHAWAR
The provincial president of newspaper agents Mohammad Fayyaz said that ongoing inflation has badly affected the lives of those who associated with the business of newspaper distributions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Muhammad Fayyaz demanded of the provincial government to announce a financial package for their fraternity or they will go on strike for infinite time.
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of newspaper vendors in his office here on Friday.
Raza Khan, president of Peshawar district, Mohammad Rafiq, general secretary and Rehman Gul Mohmand, information secretary were also present on the occasion.
They said that inflation has affected newspaper vendors as much as any other people of the country, adding that newspaper sellers have been forced to go on strike due to rising prices.
Despite promises, the federal and provincial governments have not announced relief packages for them.
Raza Khan said that whether it was raining or hurricane, the newspaper vendors were fulfilling their duty with utmost responsibility.
He said that like previous governments, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in KP did not resolve any of our demands.
Neither the promise of a newspaper market in Peshawar nor a relief package for newspaper vendors was fulfilled, he added.
District president said that the ramadan package was promised by the provincial government but it was not implemented due to which children of newspaper vendors could not celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in real sense.
