KP Govt to give Rs2100 net cash under Insaf Food Card, says Atif Khan

One million deserving households of the province would be benefited from the scheme

Minister for Food and Science and Information Technology Atif Khan has directed the concerned authorities to expedite the issuance of Insaf Food Card in the province and ensure timely provision of relief to deserving families from Insaf Food Card.
Atif Khan said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), under the scheme, initially, one million deserving households would be provided Rs 2,100 per month which would cost Rs 25 billion annually.
Atif Khan made this announcement during a meeting which was attended by Secretary Food Captain (retd) Mushtaq Ahmed, Director General KP Food Safety Authority Shah Rukh Ali Khan and other officials.
The Provincial Minister was also apprised of the progress regarding digitization of Food Department.
Atif Khan said that digitization of the department would facilitate and improve various affairs of the department including promotion of transparency.
The meeting also informed Food Minister Atif Khan about the procurement of wheat.
Secretary Food Department Mushtaq Ahmed said that work was underway to prepare cards for Insaf Food Cards, and distribution process to deserving families would be started soon. He said that one million ATM cards would be distributed among the deserving families under the program.
He said that 64 percent widows of Insaf Food Cards and remaining 36 percent would be issued to other deserving families.
The Provincial Minister was also apprised of the proposed annual development plans of the Food Department for the next year.
Atif Khan said that delivering relief to the people is the first priority of the government, in which any kind of negligence will not be tolerated
