State does not play its role in violations against fundamental rights: IHC

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has remarked state does not play its role in violations against the basic human rights. The court further remarked “ whatever court does it will do under its constitutional obligation. Government should work out such mechanism if there is any problem with any journalist then the complaint is lodged at one place against him. The cases registered against the journalists Arshid Sharif, Sami Ibrahim, Imran Riaz and Dr Moid Pirzada across the country came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah here Monday. The court sought proposals from Afzal Butt former president PFUJ and Saqib Bashir president High Court Journalists Association (HCJA) .The court will issue order in the light of the proposals. Afzal Butt former president PFUJ told the court two days time be given to them for consultation. Online
