Consul General of Iran Hassan Noorian meet with Sindh Chief Minister’s Advisor on Agriculture Manzoor Wassan at Wassan House Karachi, in which Secretary General of Pakistan Consulate Foreign Relations Ehsan Mukhtar Zaberi was also present.
They discussed to extend bilateral cooperation in economic and Agriculture sector. During a meeting with Manzoor Wassan, Consul General of Iran Hassan Nourian said that they also offer to provide tractors, combined harvesters and other agricultural machinery to the Sindh government.
He further stated that seed, cold storage and hybrid seed will be given to Sindh on cheapest rate than other countries. Iran wants to invest 25 million dollars in agriculture and other sectors in Sindh. Iran also wants to increase mutual economic cooperation with the Karachi Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking on the occasion, Manzoor Wasan told that Khairpur district of Sindh produces millions of tons of dates which are exported to other countries. Due to shortage of water in Sindh, Sindh government wants to introduce new agricultural technology as per demand of farmers. Banana’s of T. Allahyar and Hyderabad are being exported to Iran.
Manzoor Wassan alleged that share of water of Sindh was cut off during Imran Khan’s tenure which is still going on. He demanded that due share of water should be given to Sindh in order to save Agriculture of the province.
Due to shortage of water production of cotton in Sindh is reduced, the Sindh government is focusing on the agricultural sector.
