The University of Agriculture Peshawar senate meeting has approved the budget for 2022-23. The budget was approved in a meeting which was presided over by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Mohibullah Khan here on Tuesday at Governor House Peshawar.
On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor of the university Dr Bakht Jahan briefed the participants of the meeting about the ongoing development projects at the university.
The members of the meeting expressed grave concern over the extraordinary deficit presented by the VC in the next financial year annual budget 2022-23.
The syndicate members decided at the meeting to review the annual budget figures of the university and reduce the extraordinary deficit.
The Senate during the meeting set up a committee comprising the Secretary Agriculture Department, Finance Department, Higher Education Commission for rationalization of the University of Agriculture budget for the next financial year.
Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Mohibullah Khan directed the VC of the university to incorporate suggestions made by different members of the meeting.
The Senate also directed the Agricultural University officials to increase its resources and work on skill development.
The meeting also approved various policy notifications related to TTS policy and promotion cases of TTS faculty. In this regard, the university was directed to amend certain rules in the statutes of the university.
VC Agricultural University Dr Bakht Jahan, Secretary Agriculture Department Muhammad Israr, Additional Secretary to Governor Saif ul Islam, representatives of Higher Education Department, Finance Department, Establishment Department and Higher Education Commission attended the meeting.
