ISLAMABAD: Chairman Coordination FPCCI Capital Office Mirza Abdul Rehman said that the main cause of the high inflation today is cost push, fueled by rise in prices of food, which accounts for the largest part of poor people’s consumption. He said after the mini-budget that fell on the people of Pakistan like a double-edged sword. First one, the Milkmen increased the prices of dairy products in Federal Capital. The latest increase was made without the approval of the administration. The milk sellers increased the prices twice in two months while the local administration did not have a clue of what to do. Further, Mirza said that the discontent and misery prevail as the government announced a massive increase in petroleum prices as the oil prices have raised to the highest since March 2021 while the government has hardly any control over it other than minimizing or removing the tax on oil imports. The price hike has been a real challenge for Pakistani civilians. Staff Reporter
