Two persons were killed and 11 sustained injuries when gunman opened indiscriminate fire on the congregational Friday prayer in Isakkhel village on Friday, official sources said. According to details, there was a dispute between one Shafiq and Inayatur Rehman over power supply connection from a transformer and they exchanged harsh words over the issue. The accused Shafiq entered the mosque and opened fire on Inayatur Rehman who was killed on the spot while another villager identified as Hamid Nawaz also fell prey to the indiscriminate fire.
The sources added that 11 other worshippers were injured who were rushed to the City Hospital. Some of the injured were identified as Faizullah, Nasrullah, Qudratullah, Asif Khan, Abdul Ghaffar, Waheed, Rafiq, Haq Nawaz, Attaur Rehman, Faizan and Muhammad Danyal.
The accused fled the scene after committing the crime.
DPO Lakki Ziauddin Ahmed heading a heavy police contingency reached the spot and launched search operation for the arrest of the accused.
The preliminary report has not yet been lodged till filing of this report.
