Atif Khan calls for early completion of mega IT projects

Provincial Minister for Science and Information Technology Atif Khan has termed the timely completion of the ongoing major projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a top priority and directed the quarter concerned to ensure physical progress on the schemes of digital governance.
He expressed these views while chairing a review meeting on the progress of various information technology projects in the province.
“Practical work on IT flagship projects like paperless government, citizen facilitation centers, Pakistan digital city Haripur, employable digital skills will be started this year,” Atif Khan said.
KP Minister for Science and Information Technology, Food, Sports and Youth Affairs said that these projects will be inaugurated in phases by the end of this year, with all the accessories in the final stages.
The provincial minister said that with the establishment of Citizen Facilitation Centers, one window operation would be launched soon for easy access to basic services to the citizens which would not only free the citizens from the hassle of various offices but also transparency in the institutions.
The provincial minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure the inauguration of all the projects within the stipulated time and said that all the requirements should be met in this regard.
Atif Khan said that the paperless government project would digitize departmental administrative matters which would ensure transparency and redressal of unnecessary delays.
The Minister further said that under the Digital Skills Program, the youth of the province would be provided basic, intermediate and advanced digital skills training which would enable them to start their own employment but also meet the demand for trained human resources in industries.
He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI) have taken the province on the path of digitization through revolutionary initiatives in the field of information technology.
The youth should take full advantage of these projects as information technology has spread all over the world, he added.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Science and Information Technology Matiullah Khan, Managing Director IT Board Ali Mahmood and other concerned officials.
The meeting was given a detailed briefing on the progress made on the aforementioned projects.
