CM announces Rs1b for flood, rain affected people of Swabi

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan on Wednesday paid a visit to district Swabi where he visited Bam Khel and other flood affected areas in Swabi Tehsil and assessed the damages caused due to recent rains and floods.
He announced a special package of one billion rupees for the rehabilitation of infrastructure damaged by rains and floods, and Rs 200 million for electricity works. Chief Minister also distributed cheques of Rs 3 Lac per head amongst the heirs of those who died in the flood, and announced additional financial aid of Rs. 5 lac per head. He also announced Rs 4 lac per house for the completely damaged houses and one lac sixty thousand per house for partially damaged houses.
Mahmood Khan also announced to increase the amount of compensation for damaged crops from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000 per acre. Addressing the flood-affected people in Thand Koi area of Swabi, the chief minister said that the provincial government stood by its people in these testing times and all possible assistance would be extended to flood hit people. He added that the purpose of visit was to meet the flood affected people and assess the damages caused by floods.
I have also visited Karak and Tank districts to review the losses and announced financial assistance to mitigate the sufferings caused by floods, ‘ he remarked. The Chief Minister further said that solving the problems of the common people was the manifesto of PTI and the vision of Imran Khan.
The Chief Minister while paying tribute to the Relief Department, Rescue 1122 and other relevant agencies for providing services to the people in a better way during rains and floods said that the provincial authorities had shown excellent performance in this difficult time.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to start an indiscriminate operation against the encroachments on the river sides and said that the encroachments on the waterways should be completely eradicated. Provincial cabinet members Shahram Khan Tarakai, Abdul Kareem, Ex MNA and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Asad Qaisar and government officials were also present on the occasion.
