KP Traditional Games ends in Dir Upper, players enjoy victories

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ongoing Traditional Games concluded at Dir Upper with players largely enjoying their victories over dance performances on a tone of Doll (drums) and Surna (pipe).
Former District Sports Officer Mukhtiar Hussain, who organized thousands of sporting events on a regular basis in his golden tenure as sportsperson besides working hard and even developed floodlight facilities at the main Dir Sports Complex.
Many of the events part of the ongoing Traditional Games were held under the lights including volleyball, tug-of-war, balori, chandru, mirgati, musical chair, and sake race competitions with great enthusiasm witnessed among talented players of Dir Upper.
District Sports Officer Dir Lower Ibrar Ahmad, Regional Sports Officer Malakand Kashif Farhan, AD Zakir Ullah, Irshad Khan were also present during the Games and later on distributed trophies, certificates and cash prizes among the position holders players.
In The Upper district in connection with traditional sports in various districts of the province, a good number of players took part. Ibrar Ahmad also thanked Director General Sports Khalid Khan for giving due response to both Dir Lower and Dir Upper for holding sports activities.
He said like other districts of the Malakand Region, Dir Upper and Dir Lower also hosted Traditional Games in a colourful way wherein a good number of players eagerly participated. He said the districts are full of talented players and certainly through sports activities, more youngsters would come forward and play their role at the national and international levels.
Earlier, Zohaib club won the first place in volleyball, Sarbad club won the second place, Jame club won the first place in tug-of-war and Tagz club won the first place while Irfan got second position in Sake race, Sudis got first position and Yasir Ali got second position and Tala got third position in Goli Danda. Sahil, Nawaz Ahmed, Fahad got first position, Zia-ul-Haq, Uzifa, Muaz got second position in Balori race and Zia got second position in musical chair. Al-Haq won the first position, Abu Bakr won the second position and Iftikhar won the third position, Hijab of the musical chair girls won the first position, Horiya won the second position and Sonila won the third position, Anuba won the first, Hijab got second position and Aruba won the third position in Chandru.
Horiya got the first, Hijab took second and Anuba got the third position respectively.
