PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority on Saturday sealed a unit over producing fake soft drink in Bara-Bandha area of district Nowsehra and seized 6,000-litre fake drinks, 350 kg of mislabeled packing materials, 3kg chemicals, and 500kg sub-standard sweets. The operation was conducted on the direction of Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority Shah Rukh Ali Khan, According to the authority, during the raid, more than 500 kg of non-standard mis-labeled sweets were also recovered from the unit. The unit was involved in supplying substandard drinks to different areas of the district . The food safety authority has seized all stocks and sealed the unit. Action will be taken under the Food Safety Act against those involved in selling substandard and harmful drinks, said the officials. Director General Shahrukh Ali Khan has said that intelligence-based operations have been launched in various districts of the province to eliminate units producing fake drinks. Strict legal action will be taken against those involved in the business of substandard and harmful drinks, he added. DLP Report
