DPO Bannu orders strict security during Muharram days

District Police Officer (DPO) Bannu Dr Muhammad Iqbal said on Friday the police personnel must remain on high alert to ensure peaceful environment throughout the district during Muharram days in order to prevent any untoward activity.
He issued these instructions during a meeting held to review the security of Imambargahs and mourning processions during Muharram.
All SDPOs, SHO Police Station Sadar , SHO Thana City, Incharge DSB, District Security Branch and other police officials participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on maintaining peace and order in Muharram and security arrangements in Imambargahs.
District Police Chief Dr Muhammad said that to ensure the peaceful conduct of Muharram, the best security arrangements will be made to maintain peace and order by using all the resources and the long-lasting atmosphere of peace and order will be maintained in the district during Muharram.
He further said that the police check posts on all the entrances and exits of the district should be made more strict and a close watch should be kept on the suspicious persons so that no untoward incident takes place.
The district police chief also appealed to the people of Bannu to fully cooperate with the police so that an atmosphere of peace can be established in the district.
