PESHAWAR: Police during its crackdown on criminals have arrested 2,500 proclaimed offenders and around 3,000 facilitators of criminals this year so far. According to a statement issued here on Tuesday, the Peshawar Police has launched a special crackdown against the criminals wanted in serious crimes and arrested around 2,500 proclaimed offenders. Police said that cases have also been registered against the facilitators of criminals. SSP Operations Peshawar Kashif Aftab Abbasi has directed the police to speed up the process of freezing the bank accounts of the proclaimed offenders and block their identity cards and other documents. Police claimed that during the ongoing year around 2,500 offenders have been apprehended and more than 3,000 facilitators providing shelter, non-maintenance and mobility assistance have also been arrested.
