ISLAMABAD: Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal, former chairman NAB has filed petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) against summoning him by National Assembly (NA) Public Accounts Committee (PAC). Chairman PAC Noor Alam Khan had summoned former chairman NAB and incumbent chairman of missing persons commission Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal and other officers before committee due to allegations leveled by Tayyaba Gul. . Earlier DG NAB Lahore Shahzad Salim had filed petition in IHC against summoning by PAC . IHC had restrained PAC from taking any adverse action against him. Former chairman NAB has made chairman PAC, interior secretary, National Assembly secretary and secretary parliamentary affairs respondents in his petition. He has taken the plea in the petition that grave allegations against former chairman NAB came to light in PAC meeting. The committee resorted to Prime Minister to get him sack from the slot of chairman Missing Persons Commission. Such directives don’t fall in the ambit of PAC. Online
