Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman said on Thursday PTI chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan should leave party chairmanship as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had ruled against him.
“Instead of resigning himself from the party chairmanship, Imran is asking CEC to resign,” Sherry said in a statement on Thursday. “PTI is protesting only to sell its narrative,” she added.
Referring to recent ECP ruling in PTI prohibited funding case, the minister said Imran Khan and his party had concealed 13 accounts, and received prohibited funding. “Saadiq and Ameen submitted a fake declaration before ECP,” she taunted.
Sherry Rehman while alleging PTI of using charity funds for political purpose said that Chairman PTI should be disqualified for life. “A prime minister was disqualified for being untruthful,” she gave example of ex-premier Yousuf Raza Gillani.
