Independence Day Peshawar Open Taekwondo Championship will be held on August 13, 2022, Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Taekwondo Association Waqar Afridi told APP here on Wednesday.
The Taekwondo Championship is being organized in Peshawar in which players of both junior and senior categories will participate in which Director General Sports Khalid Khan and President Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympics Association and former Provincial Minister Sports Syed Aqil Shah will participate as special guests.
He said, according to the vision and instruction of Syed Aqil Shah, this event is being organized in which every player can participate. On the occasion of Independence Day, we have also given a special message to the players to include everyone in the joy of Independence and we are providing them opportunities to participate in sports activities on the occasion of Independence Day.
The players could show their best skills, he said that prizes will also be distributed among the winning players. The main objective of this event is that all our young generation can stay away from drugs.
It is necessary and it is their endeavor that such competitions will be organized at the level of the Union Council so that every young player can participate.
