Appointments in PP case
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has called respective record from finance division on the petition filed against the appointments in Pakistan Post (PP). The case came up for hearing before a single bench of IHC led by Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan here Wednesday. Asif Gujjar counsel for the petitioners and Chaudhry Tahir Mehmood on behalf of PP appeared in the court. Counsel for PP told the court the petitioners have no problem with promotion. Post office is already facing shortage of staff. Advertisement has been given in connection with new appointments recently. The petitioners will have no problem from new appointments. Stopping new appointments will cause loss to all. The new appointments are being made in place of retired employees. The counsel for the petitioner told the court they sent this summary to ministry after our petition. Finance division has already said that federation has no money. The court remarked they have simple question that if PP has money then as to why it does not spend it on the employees. On one side you have old employees and on the other hand you are bringing more 4000 people. His own statement of DG PP is there that they don’t need funds from finance department. The court inquired from the counsel for PP has the budget been allocated for new appointments. The court while directing the counsel for petitioners to bring all the documents from information commission adjourned the hearing of the case till October 10. ONLINE
