On the special instructions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Moazzam Jah Ansari has said that police department was actively participating in the rehabilitation and relief activities of the recent flood victims across the province.
IG KP said that police have also set up relief camps for the flood victims at various places in which the flood affected people were being shifted from the affected areas. According to the details, in a special circular issued by Central Police Office Peshawar, Regional Police Officer Malakand, Regional Police Officer Dera Ismail Khan, Regional Police Officer Hazara, DPOs Mardan, Nowshera, Tank, Charsadda and other police officials were instructed to provide adequate relief to flood affected people.
They should set up relief camps in the affected areas on an as-needed basis and speed up rehabilitation activities.
In the light of IGP’s instructions, Tank police shifted 13 prisoners from the district jail to a safe place last night and police trucks (large vehicles) were used for rescue activities.
Similarly, KP Police along with district administration, Pakistan Army and Rescue 1122 were engaged in supporting and rehabilitating the victims in many affected areas of Charsada and Nowshera. IGP Muazzam Jah Ansari has praised the role played by the KP Police in the national tragedy and has urged the youth to win the hearts of the people, especially the flood victims, and help them in this time of trouble and hardship.
