Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash has directed the provincial health department to accelerate supply of medicine and other necessary medical facilities to those families affected by floods and residing in government relief camps across the province.
The flood affected families were very vulnerable to certain diseases and health department should make all possible arrangements for their protection as they could fall prey to water-borne diseases, he added
Chief Secretary Shahzad Khan Bangash while presiding over a meeting regarding prevention of epidemic diseases in flood affected areas stated that medical teams should work tirelessly to reach every person living in relief camps.
Secretary Health, Director General Health and Additional Director General Health Services attended the meeting.
On this occasion, Secretary Health briefed the meeting on the overall steps taken for people in the flood situation.
The meeting discussed health department disease preventive measures and availability of medicine in different relief camps and future planning in view of ongoing rehabilitation plans in the province.
In view of the situation, the availability of drugs used for snakebite and other diseases should be ensured in the camps and local hospitals, CS-KP directed.
He said that no stone should be left unturned in provision of medical facilities including food for affected families across the province.
