Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has not appeared before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) even today despite repeated notices and went to Gujranwala for addressing a rally. Islamabad Police Saturday sent yet another notice to former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan in which he was asked to appear before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) at Margallah police station at 5:00 PM today for questioning in connection with his remarks against a lady magistrate at the party’s rally in Islamabad.
PTI chairman was reminded in the notice that he had failed to show up
yesterday despite summons. “You are on bail until September 12; so you
better appear before the JIT today for questioning,” read the notice.

Imran’s Chief Security Officer Raja Tahir received the notice.

In his reply submitted to the JIT yesterday, PTI chairman said that he
had remained the country’s prime minister, and through his speech he did
not mean to cause the magistrate any harm. “Police had tortured party
leader Shahbaz Gill during detention because of his political
affiliation,” he said, adding, “Even the report submitted to the
Islamabad High Court had confirmed torture on him.”

“Therefore, the terrorism case was registered against me with a mala
fide intent,” he said, and requested the JIT to give him a clean chit in
the case. DNA
