NORTH Waziristan
Number of polio cases in this year has reached to 18 as new case of 3 month child reported from North Waziristan on Tuesday. 16 cases from north Waziristan and 2 cases of polio from Laki Marwat reported. All the cases reported from Khyber-PK. Polio virus has also been found in the sample taken from Bannu, Peshawar, Swat and Lahore. Pakistan Polio program has said that the challenges increased due to flood victims’ migration. Health minister Abdul Qadir Patel said that government is planning possible polio campaign in flooded areas to counter possible polio risk.
