PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister on Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Khaleeq ur Rehman has said that work to make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa free from drugs and digitization of department overall affairs were in progress. In a statement, he said that “ZAMA KP Mobile App” has been introduced by the Excise department for the convenience of the public, adding that people could submit vehicle and property taxes with the help of the Zama KP application developed by the department. The aim of this digital-application was to bring sustainable improvement in the coverage and quality of public service delivery through involvement of technology, he added. He said that steps have been afoot to prevent drug use and its trafficking in KP province. “The Excise and Narcotics Control department is seizing hundreds of kilos of drugs in intelligence-based operations on a daily basis,” he said. The mission of the department is to keep the youth of the province protected from drug addiction, adding that at present more than 60 percent of people in the country were safe from drug addiction.
