A soldier of Frontier Constabulary (FC) embraced Martyrdom another sustained slight injuries when unknown militants opened fire on the checkpoint in Goodar village of subdivision Jamrud district Khyber. The police official while sharing the report said that on almost 01:00 hours on the midnight of Tuesday and Wednesday, undisclosed armed persons fired two shots at the FC check pest injuring two troops between one was serious. In retaliation the FC soldiers opened fire in the general direction and forced the militants to flee.
One soldier was shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar for medical treatment however he succumbed to his wounds.
The deceased was identified as Hawaldar Muhammad Salim while slightly wounded Sepoy Salih Khan was in stable condition.
Soon after the incident, the Frontier Corp and police officials rushed to the site, collected evidence for the site and initiated operation to trace the culprits, the official said.
