Sania Nishtar lauds mechanism for damaged houses compensation in KP

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Dr Sania Nishtar on Friday appreciated the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for its technology based intervention to compensate people who have lost their houses in the recent flash floods, that information department should take further steps to spread awareness to this effect.
She expressed these views while attending the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund technical Committee meeting at Civil Secretariat Peshawar through video link.
Senator Dr Sania Nishtar, Chief Secretary Dr. Shahzad Khan Bangash, Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Secretary Relief, Chief Executive Officer Bank of Khyber, DG PDMA, Director PMRU and other concerned officials attended.
The forum deliberated over the different efficient and transparent use of relief fund and house survey procedures.
Dr Sania Nishtar stressed on a simplified procedure for payment of compensation to affected people, adding that people affected by floods should not be indulged in lengthy and technical procedures for compensation money.
A web portal should be developed on the pattern of Ehsaas program to enable flood victims to conveniently check their eligibility for compensation.
Meanwhile, a review of the ongoing flood damage survey was held in a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary, Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash.
The Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Relief, Deputy Commissioners, Pak Army Officials and other relevant officials were also present in the meeting.
It is pertinent to mention that a comprehensive survey for the assessment of damaged houses has been initiated across the province through a customized mobile application.
The survey data is available on a digital dashboard for internal monitoring to ensure greater transparency.
