Counsel for JUI-F has admitted of supporting Transgender act. The Chief Justice Shariat court remarked JUI-F itself approved transgender law and now it has come here for what. JUI-F petition against transgender act came up for hearing before Federal Shariat court here Monday. Kamran Murtaza counsel for JUI-F said other petitions against transgender act are already pending hearing. The acting Chief Justice Shariat Court inquired what is new in your petition.
Kamaran Murtaza replied we want representation of our party. The acting chief justice Shariat court remarked was JUI-F included in the process of approving the law. Kamran Murtaza said JUI-F had supported transgender act.
The acting Chief Justice remarked you have come to court for what as you had approved the law. Was it not responsibility of JUI-F to enact law after reviewing it. JUI-F remembered it after five years when dozens of petitions have come in the court.
The counsel for JUI-F said we have challenged the clause of change of sex.
The chief justice remarked the clause is wrong what you are referring to. It seems as if you have not read law. Did you not know five years before that law will be misused. Kamran Murtaza said we have delayed approaching the court. We have filed amendment bill in parliament. The bill will be presented today on private members day.
The acting chief justice while addressing to him JUI-F should have spoken in the parliament instead of coming here.
The court while connecting the JUI-F petition with other petitions adjourned the hearing of all petitions against transgender act till October 18.
