PESHAWAR
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Sub Public Accounts Committee on Elementary and Secondary Education chaired by Idrees Khan Wednesday directed authorities to remove ambiguities relating to Tablet PCs purchased for 100 selected schools situated in 25 districts of KP during 2014-15.
The meeting among others was attended by secretary elementary education, additional secretary law and concerned deputy secretaries.
The meeting thoroughly discussed difference and ambiguity in purchase of tablet PCs besides disbursement of monthly stipend to girl students of government schools.
It was told that embezzled amount of Rs. 700,000 lakhs that was to be given to girl students of Government Girls high School Kotki Bala Dir was recovered from the employee and the culprit has been handed over to FIA.
The meeting was told that elementary education department has started online stipend to ensure transparency in the disbursement process.
On the occasion, the chair directed to inform committee about the update situation of stipend disbursement. He said that financial experts, KP Revenue Authority and concerned authorities of elementary education department should conduct investigation of the irregularity and submit final report in next meeting of the committee.
He also directed representative of KAPRA to appear in next meeting of the committee and sought details distribution procedure and record of those who have been given Tablet PCs.
