PESHAWAR
Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah has called upon governments to give priority to national interest in signing agreements with electricity, petroleum commodities/Oil marketing companies (OMCs) and others local and foreign firms.
Shah noticed Illegal profiteering, burden of taxes and rampant inflation has made out from the purchasing power of common man.
Whether petroleum companies or institutions, which were producing electricity, it is essential to strike a balanced deal, he stressed, while chairing a weekly review meeting on prevailing scenario in Pakistan here at the party central office on Monday.
The ATP chairman continued to say that unilateral interest has severely damaged the interests of the country.
Faiq made it clear that the progress cannot be brought into the country through overburdening people with various cruel ways/tactics and profiteering of millions of rupees.
The party leader asserted that the government needs to frame comprehensive policies for tapping natural resources, export and investment growth in an affluent manner.
Shah questioned: “How can the economy flourish by keeping dependence and trust on imports”?
Pakistan has been blessed with abundant natural resources wherein construction of small dams, water reservoirs and¬ energy through ‘run-off projects’ can be produced, he observed.
Similarly, he emphasized that agriculture can also be made better while needs of the modern era would be fulfilled by exploring oil reserves.
However, he said governments didn’t pay attention to it.
Shah viewed the passion of ‘Made in Pakistan’ cannot be fostered through short term policies and planning.
Today, the country stuck in debt and economic crisis has become a trap for profiteers, and essential to immediately eject from it, the ATP chief noted.
Shah reminded that his party is carrying out a vigorous campaign/struggle across the country in this regard.
