PESHAWAR
Coordinator National Commission for Human Rights Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rizwanullah Shah along with his team made a surprise visit to District Prison Kohat on Tuesday to review the facilities given to the prisoners in the prison.
Superintendent Kohat Jail Abdul Bari welcomed the team and briefed them on the various barracks, health, education, food, hygiene and sanitation, and recreational facilities for prisoners.
Coordinator Rizwanullah Shah visited on the special instructions of Commissioner National Commission for Human Rights Mr. Tariq Javed (PSP) and asked the administration for better treatment of prisoners, and timely provision of their basic rights.
The purpose of the team’s visit was to review the facilities given to the prisoners in the prison, food and health according to the rules of hygiene and to ensure the protection of the human rights of the men, women and children in prisons in every way.
Coordinator Rizwanullah Shah listened to the problems of the prisoners and assured them for immediate solution.
