IG-KP summons report from district police chief

At least six policemen were killed on Wednesday morning in a ‘terrorist attack’ in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Moazam Jah Ansari has taken notice of an attack on a police mobile.
As per details shared by the police spokesperson, the attack which claimed lives of five cops, took place on Chowki Abbasi’s police van as it was on routine patrol in the area.
The martyred cops were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ilm Din, Constable Mehmood Khan, Detective Foot Constable Ahmed Nawaz, Lower Head Constable Zubair, Frontier Reserve Police’s Sipahi Ali Usman and driver Dil Jan.
The Lakki Marwat district police said that a search operation is underway to capture the attackers.
“The incident took place when the police were conducting a routine patrol in the area,” said the spokesperson.
Police officials said that so far no outlawed organization has claimed responsibility for the attack on police vehicle.
After the incident, IG-KP Moazam Jah Ansari announced his emergency visit to district Lakki Marwat.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he condemned the attack and also paid tribute to the martyred.
Expressing grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the terror incident, he said the sacrifices rendered by the police force in the war on terrorism are unforgettable.
IG-KP has sought a detail report from the district police chief and issued orders for immediate arrest of those involved in the heinous attack on police force.
He said “cowardly acts cannot shake the police’s resolve against the menace of terrorism in the province”.
CM condemns loss of policemen in Lakki attack
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan on Wednesday strongly condemned an attack on police mobile van that resulted in martyrdom of six policemen in Lakki Marwat district and sought a report from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Muazzam Jah Ansari in this regard.
In his condemnation message, the Chief Minister said it was a tragic and condemnable incident in which six policemen were martyred.
Mahmood Khan said the KP police have rendered matchless sacrifices for the cause of the nation and such cowardice attacks will not deter their resolve to fight the menace of the terrorism on our soil.
The Chief Minister also prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and courage for the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
It merits a mention here that six police officials were martyred when their vehicle was attacked by terrorists in Lachai Jangal near Wanda Shopkhel in Kurram Par Landeva area in Lakki Marwat district on Wednesday morning.
