An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad has extended interim bail of PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan in a case pertaining to violation of Section 144 and interfering in the state’s affairs.
ATC Judge Raja Jawad Abbas conducted the hearing of the case on Monday, and extended Imran Khan’s bail until November 28. The judge also granted exemption from appearance to the former prime minister on medical grounds for Monday’s hearing while seeking complete medical report on the next hearing.
Imran Khan’s lawyer Rai Tajammul informed the court that his client could not appear in the court as he had been shot multiple times. The judge adjourned the case until next Monday.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday adjourned without hearing a petition for the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan till November 24 over not showing a daughter in his nomination papers.
The court adjourned the case, for the petitioner’s counsel could not appear on time when the case was called for hearing. On arriving late, the lawyer was not allowed to give arguments on the case.
“The case has been adjourned, and it will be heard on the next date,” the court said to him. IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq had heard the case. “Imran Khan concealed facts in the nomination papers,” the petition read.
“Imran Khan did not show a daughter in the nomination papers,” it added. A citizen named Sajid had filed a petition for the disqualification of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. =DNA
