Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Thursday formally inaugurated a 10 Megawatt Jabori Hydel power project, completed with an estimated cost of Rs 3.7 Billion.
Mahmood Khan also laid the foundation stone for the construction of 300 MW Balakot Hydro power project in District Manshera, which will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 95 Billion in seven years.
The Chief Minister also announced the establishment of Tehsil Tanawal in Manhera District.
The newly completed Jabori Hydel power project is expected to generate Rs 380 Million in revenue each year whereas the Balakot Hydel power project, once completed, will generate Rs 15 Billion in revenue every year.
The Chief Minister also held the groundbreaking ceremony for multiple developmental projects worth billions of rupees in district Abbottabad which include the remodeling and rehabilitation of the 24.37 km long Thandiani road.
The project will be initiated under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Integrated Tourism Project at an estimated cost of Rs 3 Billion and will include a rest area over 10 kanals of land that will have a Mosque, Dispensary and other facilities.
Mahmood Khan stated that Thandiani road will be followed by development of Ghari Habibullah and other scenic sites of the Hazara region.
The Chief Minister also held the groundbreaking for the upgradation of District Headquarter Hospital in Abbottabad that will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 900 Million and will include 215 beds, six dialysis units, 6 dispensary units and other allied facilities.
For the provision of clean drinking water in District Abbottabad, the Chief Minister also held the groundbreaking ceremony for rehabilitation of the water supply system and establishment of a new water treatment plant that will incur Rs 10.5 Billion.
The project includes two new water sources from Jhandar Bari and Phalkot, establishment of a New Water Treatment Plant at Chuna, construction of 16 new surface reservoirs and rehabilitation of 193 km long water distribution network.
The mentioned projects will be completed under the KP Cities Improvement Project (KP-CIP), which will benefit around 36,000 households in Abbottabad city and adjacent areas.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the establishment of Sherwan Adventure Family Park and cricket ground that will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 820 Million in one year.
The park will be established over an area of 700 kanals of land and will have walking tracks, trails, car parking, family areas, tuck shops, Apple Orchard, cafeterias and ground etc.
With regards to the uplift of the old Abbottabad market, the Chief Minister also held its groundbreaking ceremony which includes upgradation of Gol Mandi market, installation of street lights and furniture, improvement and rehabilitation of the drainage system, side walking tracks, zebra crossing for access roads, speed tables, public rest areas, upgradation of noor-ud-din park and the establishment of play area for children.
Addressing the inaugural ceremonies in District Abbottabad and Manshera, the Chief Minister maintained that the incumbent provincial government is taking pragmatic steps for uniform development of the province.
He stated that practical steps are being taken for the production of cheap and clean energy in order to make the province financially self-sustainable and enable it to contribute to national development.
The KP Power Transmission and Dispatch Company is being established through which people of the province will be provided with cheap electricity.
Furthermore, the government is also working on increasing the provincial agricultural produce for which Chasma Right Bank Lift Canal has been approved. The project will bring hundreds of thousands of barren land of the southern region under cultivation.
Mahmood Khan announced spending of 10% revenue from the Jabori and Balakot Hydel Power Projects on the development of local areas along with provision of job opportunities for local people on non-technical posts in the mentioned projects.
He maintained that the completion of Hydel Projects will usher a new area of prosperity and development for the locals, adding that the provincial government will also ensure provision of the committed funds to local bodies representatives enabling them to work for the development of their respective constituencies.
CM revealed that the incumbent provincial government has planned developmental activities for the next 30 years and despite financial constrains created by the imported federal government, the development process will continue.
Mr Khan criticized the imported federal cabinet for having no policy for public welfare, adding that they are merely busy looting the national wealth and abolishing corruption cases against them. They are pushing the country towards default.
However, the people of Pakistan will never allow them to succeed in their nefarious intentions.
Addressing party workers in District Abbottabad, Mahmood Khan reiterated that they will dissolve the provincial assembly as soon as directives are received from Chairman Tehreek- e- Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.
The provincial cabinet is united on this agenda, rumors of governor raj have no substance as the provincial government enjoys two third majority in the provincial assembly.
